It started with a Chalkboard…
Working in bars and restaurants I’ve always been interested in the way that signs affect people.
In 2015, at a bar called Pete and Shorty’s in Florida, I started creating a new chalkboard design everyday for the specials. Soon after, I was trusted to post consistently for the restaurant on social media.
After moving to Ypsilanti, Michigan in 2017 I continued to seek out businesses and events to continue my chalkboard services and expanded my services to offer sign painting, and murals.
In 2020 I decided to go back to school and get my Graphic Design Associates degree at WCC. Now I go by Acadia Champagne Design, but still hear “hey Chalk Boss!” when I’m painting in town, from the days of working as Chalk Boss Ypsi (visit my @chalkbossypsi instagram to see some of my past work). I’ve collaborated with tons of local brands and businesses along my ~journey. I am incredibly grateful to all of those who have trusted me with their businesses, and pushed me towards the pursuit of creative goals. Without their support I don’t know that I would be doing what I love today.
